Leonberger Club of America

The Leonberger Club of America, Inc., (LCA) was founded in 1985 and is the oldest and largest Leonberger breed club in the United States. The core purpose of the club is to preserve the health, temperament and type of the breed. The LCA is the official AKC Parent Club.


Leonberger University

The mission of Leonberger University is to preserve and protect the breed and the legacy of the Leonberger Club of America by offering engaging educational programs across all areas of Leonberger interest.


Leo Rescue Pals

Leonberger Rescue Pals Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer national organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing unwanted, abandoned, or abused Leonbergers and Leonberger mixes. The organization also offers education to shelters, other rescues, and individuals.


American Kennel Club

Founded in 1884, the American Kennel Club (AKC) is a not-for-profit organization recognized as the trusted authority in breed, health, and training information for all dogs. AKC actively promotes responsible dog ownership and is committed to advancing dog sports.


Leonberger Health Foundation

The Leonberger Health Foundation International is a nonprofit charitable foundation established at the turn of the 21st century to facilitate the solicitation and distribution of donations supporting breed-specific health research. LHFI views breed health, longevity, and preservation as crucial challenges requiring active engagement from the global Leonberger community.


International Leonberger Union

The IULH is the legal successor to the “Europäische Union für Leonberger Hunde”, founded in 1975 in Leonberg, Germany. The purpose of the IULH is to coordinate the efforts of its members to promote and improve the Leonberger dog breed and support its members on an international level.


Leonberger Club of the Northwest

The Leonberger Club of the Northwest is the hub for Leonberger enthusiasts in the northwest region. The club promotes and supports participation in conformation dog shows, competitive events, pet therapy activities, play sessions, and Leo family reunions.


United Kennel Club

UKC was founded in 1898 as an alternative to the dog registries that focused solely on conformation. United Kennel Club is the largest all-breed performance-dog registry in the world, registering dogs from all 50 states and 25 foreign countries. Celebrating the unique Total Dog philosophy, UKC events highlight the instincts and heritage of dogs that look and perform equally well, as more than 60 percent of its annually licensed events are tests of hunting ability, training, and instinct. United Kennel Club prides itself on its family-oriented, friendly, educational events, welcoming both purebred dogs and dogs of unknown ancestry.


Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)

Founded in 1966, the OFA mission is to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease. The OFA website and databases provide the tools needed, whether you are a veterinarian, breeder, or prospective animal owner.


American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation

American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to advancing the health of all dogs and their owners by funding scientific research and supporting the dissemination of health information to prevent, treat and cure canine disease.


Therapy Dog International

Therapy Dogs International (TDI®) is a volunteer organization dedicated to regulating, testing, and registering therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers. They aim to facilitate visits to nursing homes, hospitals, and other institutions where therapy dogs can provide comfort and support.
